We have really enjoyed seeing everyone again after the summer break and enjoyed welcoming our new pupils who have joined us in Year 7. Across the school pupils have settled into their classes and adjusted quickly to their new routines already making new friends and engaging with the exciting learning opportunities that are available here at Redwood.
As ever, we have a lot to look forward to this term! This includes trips and visits in and around the local community, our Forest School programme, preparing the garden for the winter season, kayaking and much more! We are also looking forward to our school team events starting again and seeing whether Team Discovery can maintain first position after their impressive victory in the Summer!
Every Friday we gather as a school to celebrate our successes in our whole school assembly. On our first day back we celebrated our return to school with a whole school breakfast, thinking about how important our daily routines are in making sure that we are ready for learning every day! At the end of our first whole week we also took the time to reflect on what it means to be part of the Redwood community and how we can all make meaningful contributions as responsible citizens both in school and out and about in the community. We tied this in with thinking about our hopes and dreams for the year and how each one of us brings something different but equally important to the school, each of us ‘making our mark’ by contributing to a whole school painting. The finished articles say much about us as a school – fun, outgoing and full of energy!
