This is your chance to work in an outstanding special school, a school that specialises in meeting the needs of pupils with severe and complex learning needs including autism. We offer you the opportunity to bring your enthusiasm and skills to Redwood Park, to bring music alive and to ensure our pupils achieve their very best.
We pride ourselves in our creative approach to learning and see music as a key element. To us at Redwood, music is a magical gift through which we can not only develop musical ability but also use it to support our pupils personal, social and emotional development and to develop their cultural awareness. Music is a great way to connect with and help children with special needs especially in the development of their communication.
As a school we have a strong focus on the Performing Arts. We take part in a number of local and regional events including Dance Live and also enjoy performing for our families and friends. In addition, we benefit from our links with the excellent Portsmouth Music Service
We are looking to recruit a high quality, committed music teacher who can teach across the school and who will also set up opportunities for small groups both in school time and as part of our Out of Hours Learning Programme.
Redwood Park Academy is part of the Solent Academies Trust, an outstanding trust and learning community which includes Mary Rose Academy and Cliffdale Primary Academy in Portsmouth, Littlegreen in West Sussex and is also a Teaching School. The Trust has a successful track record of developing outstanding teachers to realise rapid and sustained school improvement and outcomes for children. Music features highly in all our schools with Mary Rose being awarded Artsmark Gold.
We offer an excellent induction package and exceptional ongoing support and continuing professional development as well as opportunities for career progression.
